The first episode of Album 70 is releasing on the Adventures in Odyssey club in a few hours. I’m going to discuss my expectations of the episodes before they begin to release.
Jumping Off, Jumping In
Wyatt starts taking silly risks, like eating hot chips, leaping from sheds, and venturing into the lair of a ravenous beast. Is Jay putting him up to it … or is it tied to something that happened to his sister?

Page eight of the script was released some time ago, so this episode has been anticipated longer than most on this album.
The episode features Jay, Wyatt, Bridget, Mrs. Perkins, and Cooper. We know this because pictures and a video from the recording of the episode were released. It will be the second episode (after Always Home) to feature the Perkins without any Parkers, probably due to the fact that the Parkers are being phased off of the show. I’ve been looking forward to this episode ever since page eight of the script was released earlier this year (I think it was around April or May).

When Connie’s car goes missing, it plunges Eugene, Connie, and Detective Polehouse into a mystery that may go beyond just one car.
My speculation
No summary has been released for this episode, but there was a picture of the cast. It contains Dave Arnold, Phil Proctor, Patty McCormack, Will Ryan, Phil Lollar, and Katie Leigh. This indicates that the episode will probably include Detective Polehouse, Eugene, and Connie. The Album 70 promo mentioned Connie’s car being stolen, and I’m guessing that this is the episode that it happens in.
Unrelatable

This is the episode on the cover of the album, and features Connie, Wooton, and Eugene. As shown in the cover image, Wooton and Connie are live on Kid’s Radio when Jason comes into the studio. This was the first remotely recorded episode and, after hearing A Simple Reminder, I think it should sound fine. However, since this one was the first one recorded remotely, you might be able to tell that it sounds a little bit different.
The Protector
The Protector also does not yet have a description. This is probably the episode that I have heard the least about in this whole album, so I don’t have much to predict because I don’t know what it is going to be about. It apparently features the whole Perkins family (aiowiki.com).
The Christmas Bells
Wilson Knox tells the story of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and where he got the inspiration for his poem “Christmas Bells”.

This is the episode that is likely going to be released out of order on the Club so that it releases in time for Christmas. It features Wilson Knox either playing the character of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, or telling the story of him with Longfellow being acted by Gregory Jbara (the actor for Wilson). Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was a poet who wrote the poem “Christmas Bells”, which is where the episode gets the title The Christmas Bells. He later adapted this into his song “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”, which is sung by Gregory Jbara in the episode. Interestingly, “Christmas Bells” is not the only poem to be mentioned in an AIO episode — so was his poem “Paul Revere’s Ride” in the episode The Midnight Ride.
Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off
Morrie and Suzu get entangled in a long-lost mystery as they adjust to life at Whit’s house. Meanwhile, Emily struggles to forgive the Rydells and Whit after finding out who was responsible for the escape room incident.
My speculation
This episode is what I’m thinking will be an epilogue to the Rydell Saga. I think there will still be episodes with Morrie and Suzu, but they probably won’t be considered as Rydell Saga episodes (maybe there will be one or two more though). I hope that Matthew will be able to stay on AIO and make an appearance in this episode to finish off the Rydell Saga before the Parkers are completely removed from the show. The quote by Morrie “We have a bona fide mystery!” makes me hope that Morrie and/or Suzu aren’t setting up another fake mystery. As you might be able to tell from my description of the episode, I would like the mystery to somehow involve Whit’s house or his old things. It is written by Phil Lollar*, anyway.

Great post Jay! Not sure if you saw, but the official album description is up, and there is one line that really caught my eye. Here’s the description:
“In Adventures in Odyssey volume 70, the Perkins family experiences high drama, everyone’s a suspect when Connie’s car goes missing, and Emily finds herself in detention … with Morrie and Suzu! Finding a Way features all of that and more, including the first episodes with actors recorded in their home studios. ”
Ok… so Emily finds herself in detention (a.k.a. Jeuvenile Hall?) with Morrie and Suzu!? Interesting…

Yes, I saw that (after I published this post). It’s certainly interesting — I wonder what happened to cause this. Maybe Emily got into a fight with them (after seeing that she didn’t know if she could forgive them in TRRP3).

Awesome post Jay! We’re especially looking forward to “Let’s call the whole thing off.” Hopefully it provides answers to our lingering questions about the Rydell Revelations. Can’t wait!!! 🙂
